Historic Litchfield Train Station Chandelier Restored for New Library.

The Litchfield Park community is celebrating their very own newly renovated library opening this month! This included a meaningful piece of the community’s history illuminating the space: a restored chandelier from the historic Litchfield Train Station.

Located in Goodyear at the southern end of Litchfield Road, the station once welcomed visitors, business leaders and guests traveling to the Wigwam Resort. From there, travelers continued north along Litchfield Road, making the station an important gateway to the area’s early development.

Today, the chandelier’s preservation maintains an important connection to the community that grew around the station. Now displayed inside the library, it serves as more than a decorative feature. It reflects Litchfield Park’s commitment to protecting the distinctive places, stories and architectural treasures that have shaped its rich history.

Lights by Mathias carefully restored the historic chandelier, with support from Origin Design & Technology. When starting the restoration, several of the chandelier’s bottom finials were found broken, and only one piece was found to still be intact that could be used as a reference.

To help complete the restoration, Origin digitally replicated the remaining finial and 3D printed replacement pieces that matched the chandelier’s original design. This innovative solution allowed Lights by Mathias to return the chandelier to its complete form while preserving the character of the historic fixture.

The result is a fitting blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology: a treasured piece of Litchfield Park’s past restored for a new generation.
