As a full-time student and teaching assistant for a construction modeling course, Joshua’s schedule is often packed. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but he’s found an unexpected way to reset and recharge: ballroom dance.

For Joshua, dance is more than just a hobby—it’s a space to be active and stretch his mind in a completely different way. The creative, physical, and mental challenge offers a refreshing contrast to the technical demands of school and work. While juggling all three can be demanding, the variety helps him stay balanced and motivated.

Ballroom has also equipped Joshua with life skills that extend far beyond the dance floor. It’s taught him perseverance when things get tough, how to approach problems with creativity, and how to embrace failure as part of the learning process. Most importantly, it’s reminded him to slow down and find joy in the journey.

Joshua firmly believes that anyone can dance. You don’t have to be perfect to enjoy it, you just have to be willing to try.
